For anyone disappointed to have missed Dr Joanne Sargeant's 24 March Lecture, her presentation will be filmed at 5.00pm for boarding parents, but anyone interested is welcome to attend. In this second lecture, we welcome parenting expert Dr Justin Coulson to address how parents can combat toxic perfectionism in students - "I'll never be good enough".
Time: 5:45pm for a 6:00pm start
Hosts: Dr Wesley Hii, Foundation Director
Guest Speaker: Dr Justin Coulson, one of Australia’s leading parenting experts and highly sought-after international speaker and author.
Join Dr Coulson as we do a deep dive into perfectionism and how it is affecting our students. We'll explore strategies to reduce perfectionistic tendencies and encourage our young people to take risks, make mistakes, and become more resilient and adaptive in the face of academic, social, physical, and psychological challenges.
Studies highlight that perfectionism really is a thing - and it affects females disproportionately. Why is that? And more importantly, what can we, as parents and educators, do to diminish the crippling, anxiety-inducing impact of toxic perfectionism.
Parking will be available at the School, more details will be posted closer to the date of the function.
