How did the event come about?
The Thrive Breast Cancer Event is the brainchild of a small group of passionate representatives from the Sunshine Coast breast cancer community, including breast cancer survivors who want to shape and influence the survivorship experience for others.
The idea was born in 2020 when members of the Sunshine Coast Breast Cancer Friendship Circle, a free social group for breast cancer survivors, observed a desire among the breast cancer community to celebrate their achievements and recognise that survivorship and ‘thriving’ after breast cancer treatment looks different for every individual.
The Buderim Private Hospital’s Cindy Mackenzie Breast Cancer Program agreed to become the event partner alongside the support and expertise donated by local service providers Tracey G Prosthetics & Lingerie and Jen McKenzie (The Breast Cancer Physio) for the wider benefit of the Sunshine Coast breast cancer community.
This event will operate under COVID Safe Event protocols and guidelines to maintain the safety of guests, venue employees, hirers and the community.
All guests must sign in via the Check In QLD QR Code and follow COVID Safe Event protocols and instructions given by venue staff and event organisers.
