Re-Greening your House and Neighbourhood
This workshop includes:
- Perennials for climate-smart gardening and food production
- Design techniques for natural house cooling and creating micro-climates
- Successfully integrating vegies, fruit trees and other perennial plants
- Creating wildlife and beneficial insect habitats
- Practical tips for successful growing!
Re-greening our neighbourhoods with appropriate plants using permaculture design techniques enables us to:
- Create more comfortable, beautiful and sustainable households and communities
- Be more resilient to the negative impacts of climate change
- Act to reduce carbon emissions
- Grow fruits and foods all year round that require less effort and maintenance
- Improve bird, lizard and beneficial insect populations
This workshop provides a practical framework for understanding the wide variety of perennials you can plant and how to integrate them, maximising benefits and managing potential problems. This leads into designing and creating more sustainable, productive and climate-resilient outdoor areas.
