St. Joseph's Parish, Malvern
Dear Parishioner,
You are invited to attend another of our popular Hot Button Issue Meetings immediately after Mass on Sunday, 25th July. This will be an interactive conversation to introduce the key themes of Laudato Si': ‘On Care for Our Common Home and explore aspects of Ecological conversion’.
Laudato Si’ is the second encyclical of Pope Francis, like all encyclicals, it is a teaching document on the subject of ‘care for our common home’ and asks Catholics to consider 'What kind of world do we want to leave to those who come after us, to children who are now growing up?' (LS # 160)
Our presenter is an experienced educator, Pat Long who has spent the past twenty years presenting programs to raise our ecological awareness as members of the Earth Community.
In recent years the call and challenge of ‘Laudato Si’: on ‘Care for our common Home’ has been central to this work. She holds a Masters in Pastoral Ministry with a specialization in Ecology and the human spirit. Sustainable gardening, camping and bushwalking nourish her connection to Earth and shape her responses to the moral crisis facing our planet.
The Climate Action Group believe this is a very important subject and affects us all today, and future generations to come.
Please feel free to invite your family, friends and especially children to join in.
Mark this date in your diary now!
All of this of course is subject to COVID regulations, but be optimistic!
Bookings would help to ensure we comply with COVID requirement.
