As the current Brisbane lockdown has been extended to this Sunday, the West End Film Festival can no longer proceed in our theatre. However, some good news, you will still be able to get your film fix from the comfort of your home, as the 2021 WEFF program of short films will now be delivered online through Vimeo. All ticket holders have been contacted with further information. We look forward to welcoming you back to Metro Arts soon.
West End Film Festival (WEFF) is back after a covid-forced break in 2020. We’re excited to be screening this year’s program at Metro Arts, one of Brisbane’s premier arts venues supporting communities and local artists for over 40 years.

This year WEFF includes 2 sessions per day repeated over 3 days showing 50+ selected short films by Australian filmmakers all vying for a share of over $3,000 in prizes, with the final GOLD session including awards and presentations to the winners.

The easiest way to access Metro Arts is to enter West Village from Boundary Street, wander through the garden area, and make your way down Factory Lane. You can find more information to help plan your visit here


General Admission: $15.00 + booking fee
Concession: $13.00 + booking fee


Approximately 90 minutes per session. No interval during sessions. 


Suitable for all ages. Some short films may include occasional coarse language and references to adult themes. Please note - a lockout period applies. Latecomers may be admitted at a suitable break in the film. 


Metro Arts' New Benner Theatre is wheelchair accessible. Tickets for patrons in a wheelchair, with accessibility needs and/or Companion Card holders are not available online. Please call Metro Arts on 07 3002 7100 Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm to enquire or make your booking. Please be aware there are limited number of wheelchair spaces available per show.
