National Pain Week 2021 - Introduction to Pain Management

Presented by Dr Stephanie Davies, Pain Consultant, Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine and Derin Librizzi, Clinical Nurse Consultant Pain Management, Fiona Stanley Hospital.

During National Pain Week 2021, join Fiona Stanley Hospital Pain Medicine Service’s Dr Stephanie Davies and Pain Management Clinical Nurse Consultant Derin Librizzi as they explore the different types of pain, diagnosis, treatments and the new biological understanding of persistent pain, and how that leads to newer treatment options.

Dr Stephanie Davies has specialised in pain management for nearly 30 years. She was drawn to the world of pain medicine by her own personal struggles with chronic pain. She's since transformed that pain into a passion - to support and guide others walking a similar path including writing a book for people with pain called Rewire Your Pain (July 2015). Derin Librizzi is a Senior Registered Nurse with over 30 years’ experience, originally trained in the UK and migrated to Australia in 1989. She has a diverse background in Paediatrics, Intensive care, Emergency and Drug & Alcohol nursing. Since 2007 she has been working with the Acute Pain Service, initially at Fremantle Hospital and transitioning to Fiona Stanley Hospital in 2015.
