David Bentley Trio

Restrung Productions and Metro Arts present
David Bentley Trio
with Andrew Shaw, Nathan Goldman, Shenzo Gregorio and Danielle Bentley.

Classic trio jazz and funky rhythms make for a spicy bouillabaisse when Brisbane’s legendary David Bentley Trio (DB3) takes the stage, joined by virtuoso violinist Shenzo Gregorio and cellist Danielle Bentley.

Accomplished jazz/blues pianist and composer David Bentley is best-known in Britain as author of In A Broken Dream - a hit for Python Lee Jackson (feat. Rod Stewart) in the 70s and, more recently, as a remix by Harlem rapper Rocky A$ap.
In this special Restrung performance, they will be joined by Shenzo Gregorio - a multi-award winning world-renowned jazz and classical violinist/improviser and composer and Danielle Bentley - a classically-trained award-winning cellist and festival curator, specialising in Australian art music. Legendary Brisbane musicians Andrew Shaw (bass) and Nathan Goldman (drums) make up the rest of this swinging, spirited and multi-faceted lineup featuring Bentley’s originals, timeless standards, quirky blues and New Orleans grooves.

This event is presented as part of Restrung Festival, bringing audiences a banquet of boundary-pushing, strings-driven music and art. Click here to view the full Restrung Festival program.
