Celebrating Spring
with Jan Peacock and Diane Casimaty
A two-hour workshop exploring the use of oil and soft pastels to create your own artwork that celebrates Spring.
Join Jan Peacock and Diane Casimaty, both experienced arts practitioners and volunteer art guides at TMAG, for an afternoon of examining how abstraction can carry ideas. In this workshop you will experiment with composition, and use tonal and colour theory to create illusions of space and volume. Basic oil and soft pastels are provided but feel free to bring your own quality materials.

About the facilitators
Diane Casimaty has been an Art Guide with TMAG for 27 years. She is an Art Teacher and has tutored at the Colour Circle using water colour, pastels, and acrylics. She is a life member of the Art Society of Tasmania and exhibits with Images of Tasmania.
Jan Peacock has spent 60 years involved in art education, teaching mainly in matriculation and secondary colleges. She has also previously worked, for 26 years, as part of the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery team co-ordinating the Art Guides and delivering their public art programs. As an original art guide since 1994, Jan created the Hobart Gallery Guide in 1988 which ran until 2019. She co-developed Images of Tasmania and has coordinated annual exhibitions over its 23-year history. Jan also maintains a personal art practice involving painting, mixed media collage and 3D assemblage.
