Lay a Garland
This entertaining concert showcases the rich European heritage of partsongs. Exploring the essential themes of human existence, it includes works by Max Bruch and Claude Debussy (the sublime Trois Chansons de harles d’Orléans), as well as Elgar’s My Love Dwelt in a Northern Land and Pearsall’s majestic Lay a Garland. From the Renaissance we present some lesser-known gems as well as old favourites such as The Silver Swan and Innsbruck Ich Muss Dich Lassen.
