Jeanette Barbaro, Partner, MinterEllison, Melbourne
Jeanette is a partner at MinterEllison in the Project, Infrastructure and Construction group. In addition to managing construction disputes, Jeanette leads the National Building Regulation and Compliance team. This unique combination of expertise allows Jeanette to bring an understand of the technicalities of building regulation and compliance, the legal risks in design and construction as well as the industry dynamics to the work she does for government, regulators, builders, consultants, developers and building owners. Jeanette has worked alongside government and regulators with respect to the challenges of identification and rectification of combustible cladding and improving fire safety. She also provides a advice throughout the design and the construction of residential and commercial, social housing, health, education and aged care buildings, including the resolution of defect, delay and variation claims.
Simon Gray, State Manager - NSW/ACT, Planned Cover
Simon holds a BSc LLB degree and is the State Manager NSW at Planned Cover. Prior to joining Planned Cover Simon was a partner for many years at Hunt & Hunt, Lawyers. During his 12 years as a lawyer Simon specialised in insurance litigation and acted for the major insurance companies in defending public liability, CTP and professional indemnity claims.
Since joining Planned Cover in 2006 Simon has been the State Manager and is also responsible for handling the company’s major professional indemnity insurance accounts. As a broker.Simon’s unique blend of legal and insurance experience enables him to provide his clients with insurance and risk management advice that goes beyond traditional insurance broking.
