There are 5 session times per day, starting at 10:15 am. Four of these are 45 minute sessions, with each day’s last session, commencing at 2:15pm, lasting 90 minutes. Please choose your session from those available below and list all visitors in your party. A maximum of 6 people per group, including infants.
TMAG is open daily between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm from 26 December until 31 March. It is open Tuesdays to Sundays between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm from 1 April until 24 December. TMAG is also open from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm on Public Holiday Mondays year-round.
The museum is closed Good Friday, Anzac Day (25 April) and Christmas Day.
Visitors agree to abide by the physical distancing and public health requirements in place.
Visitors also agree to abide by TMAG’s general conditions of entry including:
- being aware of their health and safety responsibilities while visiting TMAG including mapiya lumi | around here;
- complying with any reasonable health and safety instructions;
- taking reasonable care not to put themselves or others at risk;
Visitors participating in interactive experiences, do so at their own risk. Footwear must be worn at all times.
If you are unable to attend your booking, please cancel your booking in advance to enable your session to be reallocated to others. Please arrive within 15 minutes of your scheduled entry time or your ticket/s may be reallocated.
Group bookings (beyond 6 people) for formal or informal learning groups such as day care, kinder or early primary school groups must be made separately, and please note that gallery limits and child to adult ratios will apply. At this time group bookings will only be available for afternoon sessions. Please email your request to tmag.bookings@tmag.tas.gov.au
Other group bookings for this gallery are not currently available.
Information collected via the bookings system will be stored securely for a period of 21 days unless approval is given by the visitor to receive further communication from TMAG in the form of our monthly e-newsletter.

Bookings will be available at least 4 weeks in advance. From our experience this will ensure that as many visitors as possible can see the exhibition and no-shows are kept to a minimum. If there are no available bookings listed please return to the site every few days to check on the most currently available session times.
