BSL Talks: Work, care and social security
Much has changed since Bob Hawke’s 1987 claim that no child would live in poverty by 1990. Yet more than one in six children live in poverty. Children in sole parent families are more than three times as likely to live in poverty as children in couple families. So, what’s going on and what can we do to tackle child and family poverty? This forum aims to tease out the intersections of family payments with care, work, and income support.
