Event Details
The City of Melbourne in partnership with Val’s LGBTI Ageing and Aged Care present ‘Val’s Coffee Lounge Revisited'. Join us for a celebration of LGBTIQA+ seniors and the continuing legacy of Val's Coffee Lounge and Val Eastwood, an icon in Melbourne's LGBTIQA+ history who played an important role in the visibility of this community.
Organised as part of the 2022 Victorian Seniors Festivals, Val's Coffee Lounge Revisited promises an afternoon of social connection and entertainment with a special guest performance from the Rainbow Voices Community Choir.
Representatives from the Australian Queer Archives (AQuA) will also be on site to reflect on Val Eastwood's legacy, Melbourne's LGBTQIA+ history and the lasting impact that older members of the community have had in shaping the inclusive and welcoming city we enjoy today.
Afternoon tea and light refreshments will be provided.
Registration for the event is free, however spaces are limited so book in quick!
