Come To The Proms
About
The Brisbane City Pops Orchestra invites everyone to our third concert of the year entitled - Come To The Proms. A program full of music, from light classics to modern. As is tradition with The Proms, the orchestra will perform Elgar's much-loved Pomp and Circumstance as well as the popular March of the Gladiators, the haunting Adagio from Spartacus and the Scottish melody, Highland Cathedral - and yes, there WILL be bagpipes. You'll also hear themes from the popular series of Downton Abbey and the action-packed film, Mission Impossible. Well-known Queensland baritone, Jon Maskell, will perform favourites including the Toreador Song from Carmen, Largo al Factotum from The Barber of Seville, and I am a Pirate King from Pirates of Penzance. Just for something a little different, Jon will also present Anthem from the musical Chess. Our conductor for this event will be the wonderful Neil Flottmann. Come To The Proms promises to be a thoroughly entertaining concert, featuring amazing musicians and incredible music. Join us for a wonderful afternoon!Location
