Heal Country with Lana Kelly
Lana is grounded in her Aboriginal culture from her teachings from Elders of the Gumbaynggirr Nation. Lana shares her knowledge of caring for country from an Aboriginal woman's perspective teaching what had been handed to her from her mother and Grandmother. Raising her two sons on the Northern Beaches and is a proud grandmother to Allianna.
Lana came to the area when attending Biala Girls Hostel at Allambie Heights and went on to complete her HSC at Mackellar Girls High School. Within Lana’s professional life her career expands across 25 years working for the NSW state government within an Aboriginal programs area and is an advocate for change, working towards Closing the Gap in employment outcomes. Lana is passionate about creating change to bridge the gap to improve non-Indigenous staff understanding and knowledge of Aboriginal culture customs heritage and protocols.
