About
Church discipline is a much-neglected topic in the modern church. However, the Scriptures suggest it is needed for the good of the church and because Christians are called to love people caught in sin. How do we apply the biblical principles of church discipline to the modern church? What can we do at earlier points to ensure that more drastic church discipline is not required? Furthermore, how does our understanding of the danger of abusing power imbalances change the process of discipline? These are the sorts of questions we will be considering at our June evening seminar with Kara Hartley and Phil Colgan.
About our speakers
Kara Hartley is the Archdeacon for Women’s Ministry in the Sydney Diocese. She is involved with teaching the Bible to women at events, conferences and retreats; meeting with and supporting women in ministry; and recruiting and training women for ministry. Kara is married to Brett and they live in the north western suburbs of Sydney.
Phil Colgan is the Senior Minister at St George North Anglican Church in Sydney. He is married to Victoria and together they have three children. He loves teaching the Bible and seeing people come to a greater understanding of their role in God's plan in the world.
