Are you an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community but want to learn more about their struggles and challenges, and where your support can have a real impact?
This Pride Month, we’re partnering with Programmed for an impactful training that aims to familiarise our network with the concepts of gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation. Our training has been carefully planned to cater for a safe environment where questions and thoughtful conversation are encouraged, all while ensuring respectful communication.
The training will be delivered by Ellie Watts, Senior Relationship Manager with Pride in Diversity, Australia’s first and only national not-for profit employer support program for all aspects of LGBTQIA+ workplace inclusion. Ellie is deeply knowledgeable on all aspects of LGBTQIA+ inclusion.
Attendees to these training will:
- Understand the case for LGBTQIA+ inclusion and why it is important in a workplace context
- Be introduced to LGBTQIA+ terms and identities, pronouns and inclusive language
- Understand the key concepts and diversity of sex, gender, gender expression and sexual orientation
- Learn some introductory actions individuals can take to be an active ally and create a more inclusive workplace culture
We look forward to seeing you there!
