Landcare Plant Propagation workshop
About
This training session is free and open to all West Gippsland Landcare group members or network staff. It is facilitated by staff from the Bass Coast Landcare Network at their nursery in Bass. The session is designed to give Landcarers the skills and equipment to propagate native plants on their own property. Please wear appropriate protective clothing such as closed toe shoes and advise the organiser of any food allergies prior to the event.Program
- Welcome, brief induction and tour
- Context: why grown local plants, local indigenous plant and communities, and importance of local seed
- Morning tea included
- Propagation: potting up (custom mix), fertilising (native, specialised for pot size), direct seeding, pricking out
- Participants will take home a tray of 40 cells with potting mix to propagate their own.
