Terms and Conditions  −  Self-Advocacy Workshop - Burnie

The Mental Health Families and Friends (MHFFTas) Self-Advocacy workshop is funded by the Department of Social Services to build the individual capacity of people that support someone with a psychosocial disability. Therefore, to be eligible to attend the free workshops, you must be providing some kind of support to a person that is experiencing mental ill health. The person you support does not need to be related to you; they can be colleague, a friend, or even a neighbour.
This workshop is open to support people aged 18+ and do not need to be providing paid support. Informal support may come in the form of emotional, financial, social, informal and physical support.
Please demonstrate your eligibility by answering the eligibility criteria questions when booking your ticket.
Please note: so the workshop remains true to the experience of family and friends, it is not open to service providers or consumers. However, if you are a Family Peer Support Worker, please get in touch with Flavia at: flavia@mhff.org.au to enquire about availability and the potential to attend on the basis that you provide support to support people.
