Dunedin Midwinter Carnival Lantern Workshop - 6th June 2026
Kiwi Lantern - Medium, recommended 6yr+
These lantern-making workshops are a highlight of the Dunedin Midwinter Carnival event (12-13 June) for many families. The public is invited to make a lantern at one of our workshops and be part of this icon Dunedin event.
It takes 1-2 hours to make a lantern and all materials and instructions are provided on-site. Children under 15 are required to have a parent in attendance. You can find us on the ground floor of the Meridian Mall (beside the Hanover Street Entrance).
Your lantern is your ticket to this year's event. All lanterns made in this year's workshop give you 1 FREE entry to attend the Carnival AND be a part of one of our processions!
The ticket price covers about half the cost of running these workshops with the remainder covered by our generous sponsor Meridian Mall.
