An Evening with Monte Christo Winery
Join us at The Hour Glass for an exclusive evening celebrating one of Central Otago's most historic wineries.
Hosted by Karl Coombes, Head Winemaker at Monte Christo Winery, alongside Amy Taylor from Vintners, you'll enjoy a guided tasting of exceptional wines, each perfectly paired with a specially curated menu by The Hour Glass chefs.
Established in 1864, Monte Christo is recognised as the birthplace of Central Otago wine. Today, the Paris family continues this remarkable legacy, producing organically farmed wines from vineyards across the Alexandra Basin, Bannockburn and Pisa, crafting wines known for their elegance, balance and sense of place.
Your evening will begin with a selection of varietals before a unique side-by-side tasting of three exclusive sub-regional blends, wines not available anywhere else. Along the way, Karl will share the stories behind each wine, offering a rare insight into the vineyards, the winemaking process and the distinctive character of each region.
Your ticket includes:
• Guided tasting hosted by Karl Coombes and Amy Taylor
• A selection of premium Monte Christo wines
• Exclusive tasting of three cellar door-only sub-regional blends
• A specially curated multi-course menu by The Hour Glass chefs
