Every year on the first Saturday in November, our alumnae return to campus to honour the founding of Diocesan School for Girls and for a meaningful day of reconnection and celebration.
The Founders' Day programme includes a selection of the following listed below concluding with a Cocktail Party where alumnae enjoy the chance to share stories and reconnect with old school friends and teachers. Many reunion groups also opt to organise an extra reunion brunch, lunch, dinner or drinks around Founders' Day just for their Peer Year.

1.15pm AGM - School House Dining Room
2.00pm High Tea - School Hall
3.00pm School Tour - Chapel Courtyard
4.00pm Chapel Service - Chapel of our Glorified Lord
5.00pm Cocktail Party - Performing Arts Centre (PAC)
All Alumnae are welcome to take part in Founders' Day. However, each year we extend a special invite to our Decade on Reunion Groups.
Decade reunions for 2026 are PY: 2016, 2006, 1996, 1986 and 1976.
If your class is considering arranging or hosting a reunion in 2026, we encourage you to update your information via our Stay Connected form and reach out to the Development Office at: development@diocesan.school.nz
Election Day: Just a note that we are aware that this year Founders’ Day falls on the same day as Election Day in New Zealand. Due to limited availability in the school calendar we will be proceeding with the date as planned, and appreciate the flexibility that advance voting options now provide us.
More information will be made available throughout the year and in the lead up to Founders' Day 2026.
* PY (peer year) is the year you would have completed Year 13 at Diocesan.
