There’s something for everyone, with a full day of traditional Highland competitions and family fun, including:

Solo Piping • Highland Dancing • NZ Open Heavyweights • Tug of War

Bring the whole family! There will be plenty to keep the kids entertained, including bouncy castles, running races, games and activities.

One of the highlights of the Games is at lunchtime, when the stirring sound of the Massed Pipe Bands fills the grounds as they march into the Main Arena. This spectacular tradition is followed by the Mass Highland Fling.  

Then, join with us in the singing of the 'Flower of Scotland'  - a special moment to come together and celebrate or Scottish heritage and the spirit of the Waipu Highland Games.

Stay for the day, soak up the atmosphere, enjoy the competitions, entertainment, food and festivities, and celebrate everything Scottish in the heart of Waipu.

After the Highland Games, join us for our Evening Ceilidh/Hogmanay and celebrate the arrival of the New Year with music, dancing and great company.

Please note: Tickets for the Evening Ceilidh/Hogmanay are sold separately and are not included with Highland Games admission.
