The QMC Holiday Programme is packed with exciting, themed days and trips—designed to spark creativity, build friendships, and make lasting memories. Open exclusively to QMC students in Years 1–6 and their siblings. Standard days are $70, trip days $85, with a 15% sibling discount. QMC Academy Online: Maths – The Theme Park Edition

Wednesday 15 April 2026
Join us for three dynamic mornings of hands‑on, project‑based maths learning. This will be followed by afternoon theme‑park project work supported by a Q&A board with their teacher. Students will explore key numeracy concepts through creative, real‑world activities that build confidence, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills- all within a supportive online environment designed just for them. When: Wednesday 15 April, Thursday 16 April and Friday 17 April. (3-day course) 9:00am–12:30pm (live online), then 12:30pm–3:00pm independent project time (Q&A board available with teacher support) Skills Covered: measurement, decimals, fractions, probability, budgeting, area & perimeter, and scaling. Ballet Club (Years 1-3)

Calling all budding ballerinas to the stage! This club introduces the basics of classical ballet in a fun, creative, and graceful setting. Dancers of all abilities build posture, coordination, and musicality through simple exercises and imaginative movement. Comfortable clothing is encouraged, with ballet shoes optional. Sessions focus on confidence and enjoyment rather than perfection. Held in a spacious gym or hall with mirrors and a smooth floor, students learn foundational steps while developing a love of dance and expressive movement in a supportive, welcoming environment. Queen's Bake House (Years 7-9)

Baking techniques and skills Step into the QMC kitchen and build your baking skills with this hands on, creativity fuelled course. Students will learn essential techniques such as accurate measuring, mixing, shaping, and baking while exploring a range of sweet and savoury recipes. They will experiment with flavours, practise decorating skills and gain confidence working with different tools and ingredients. Throughout the course, students will develop practical kitchen competence, strengthen fine motor skills, and build creativity, patience and attention to detail. They will also learn about food safety, teamwork, and the satisfaction of sharing their creations with others in a fun and supportive environment. Guided by Service Prefect Teresa Li, students in Years 5 and 6 will develop leadership, teamwork, collaboration, and empathy. They will learn about our school charities—Wellington Free Ambulance, Embracing Hearts, and Who Did You Help Today? —and work together to create a positive impact. This term, we will be fundraising to provide a lifesaving AED for a community in need. The cost of joining this club will contribute directly toward achieving this important goal. Kura Kai - Cook Up

Kura Kai Cook Up is a student-led initiative where we come together to cook nutritious meals for whānau in our wider community. All meals made during the Cook Up are donated to Kura Kai freezers, supporting young people and families who need a little extra help. Students will work in teams to prepare, cook, and package meals, while learning about service, teamwork, and the impact of giving back. No experience is needed — just enthusiasm and a willingness to get stuck in. All ingredients and equipment are provided. Please wear covered shoes and tie long hair back.

This engaging course combines introductory Italian language learning with a deep dive into Italian culture and contemporary Italy. In that spirit, we are delighted to announce our Everyday Power: Women’s Safety & Self Defence Workshops, running this March in alignment with International Women’s Day (IWD). WHO SHOULD ATTEND? These sessions are open to all members of our QMC whānau, including: • Students in Years 7–13 • Mothers, aunties, grandmothers, cousins, caregivers • Alumni, friends, and QMC staff • Individuals or groups- come on your own, with friends, or as a mother– daughter or family pair! WHY THESE SESSIONS MATTER Regular incidents in Wellington and beyond remind us that girls and women still face moments where safety, comfort, or personal boundaries may be compromised - on public transport, on Courtenay Place, at social gatherings, or simply walking home. While we hope none of us - ever face such moments, being equipped makes a difference: in awareness, in action, and in confidence. ABOUT THE CLASS - THREE HOUR DURATION WITH REST BREAKS These workshops offer a practical, supportive environment where participants learn: • Verbal strategies • Body language techniques • Awareness and prevention tools • Simple, effective self defence movements • How to stay safe in real world scenarios Designed for all ages and abilities, these sessions are safe, empowering, and deeply confidence building. ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS The workshops are led by Wil and the expert team at Tactical Survival Academy (Krav Maga). Their teaching is grounded in lived experience, real world scenarios, and a deep commitment to empowering girls and women. Since founding Tactical Survival in 2008, master instructor Wil and his team have trained thousands of New Zealanders, including members of the NZ Defence Force, members of the NZ Police, medical staff, diplomats, security professionals, and people with no prior experience with self-protection techniques. In that spirit, we are delighted to announce our Everyday Power: Women’s Safety & Self Defence Workshops, running this March in alignment with International Women’s Day (IWD). WHO SHOULD ATTEND? These sessions are open to all members of our QMC whānau, including: • Students in Years 7–13 • Mothers, aunties, grandmothers, cousins, caregivers • Alumni, friends, and QMC staff • Individuals or groups- come on your own, with friends, or as a mother– daughter or family pair! Please note: For younger students (Years 7-9), we strongly recommend the attend with a parent or adult caregiver. Sessions for younger QMC students will also be held in Term 2 and 3 as part of the Queen's Edge and Junior School afterschool programmes.
