Directed by Professor Sunil Ariyaratne, ‘Gautama Buddha Matha’ is a cinematic portrayal inspired by the life of Mahapajapati Gotami, the revered queen and foster mother of Gautama Buddha and later became the first Bhikkhunī of the Buddha Sasana.
The film also features performances by renowned Indian actors, adding an international dimension to this significant Sri Lankan production.
