Wellington Pride Festival presents - The Hunger (1983)

About
Deneuve, Bowie and Sarandon star in this '80s cult classic about vampires posing as wealthy classical music teachers. The Hunger is full camp; queer tension and complexity. And beware: the encounters in this movie do not stick to heterosexual norms.
Underworld Tavern in Mt Vic is this rightful venue, and it will be hosted by Stabitha, Wellington’s queer horror expert. Stay on after the film for their reaction and deconstruction, in conversation with the audience.
Prizes for best outfit! Special guest judge!
Full bar service will be available throughout!
Continuing our run of film fundraisers, The Hunger allows us queers and our allies to engage with a pillar of queer culture. These screenings are organised and hosted by the community for the community.
The event begins at 3pm but come early to get comfortable. The film will start at 3.30. A short comfort break will be provided. Stay for a drink to discuss and dissect.
