About
Waipā District Council is funding this free household hazardous waste collection event to give local residents a safe and responsible way to dispose of unwanted chemicals and other hazardous materials.Accepted items include: household cleaners, garden chemicals, insecticides, automotive waste (e.g. motor oil, antifreeze, brake fluid, fuel), pool chemicals, chlorine, paints, solvents, poisons, and batteries (includes automotive batteries).
We cannot accept: asbestos, LPG gas cylinders, e-waste, pharmaceuticals, explosives, light bulbs, mobile phones, cooking oil, or fertilisers. Please check the MyHazWaste website for alternative disposal options.
This event is for household quantities only. Businesses, farms, and other organisations should contact 3R Group’s ChemCollect service for commercial disposal options.
Bookings are essential and will open on Monday, 22nd September and close on Sunday, 2nd November 2025.
