Foxton Little Theatre presents: Te Awahou - The New Stream
About
In 1988 Foxton Little Theatre staged a homegrown production to mark the centenary of the Foxton Borough Council, prior to it's amalgamation with other boroughs to form Horowhenua District Council.Te Awahou - The New Stream was written and performed by theatre members and directed by the Society's President, Daphne Hunt.
It begins with the local Maori Culture Group, Te Roopu Rangitahi followed by twelve scenes depicting notable events in Foxton's history.
This production was commercially videoed and featured on the Wellington Regional TV News, Today-Tonight.
Thirty-seven years and a generation or so later we believe this taonga deserves to be seen once more.
We are showing the video of Te Awahou - The New Stream to our members and the general public. There will be two evening showings and one matinee over one weekend.
Tickets will be $10 Adult and $5 Child. Patrons can bring their own drinks and we will supply nibbles. Complimentary tea and coffee will be served at interval.
