About

You, Me, Everybody hit the road in 2026 for a national tour celebrating Midnight, their new album inspired by the fleeting moment where one day ends and the next begins.

Rather than focusing on the night sky, the record explores that emotional space between certainty and possibility — the quiet turning point that signals change, reflection, and renewal. The songs lean into this theme with intricate arrangements, dynamic instrumental interplay, and the warm vocal
blend that has become central to the band’s sound.

Recognised as finalists for Best NZ Folk Artist at the 2021 Aotearoa Music Awards, You, Me, Everybody have steadily built a reputation as one of the country’s most compelling and progressive acoustic bands. Their music has reached audiences well beyond Aotearoa, particularly after their track “Stranger” was featured in Netflix’s Sweet Tooth, bringing new international listeners into their orbit. Their approach combines the drive of bluegrass with contemporary folk influences, innovative string-band arrangements, and the artistry of musicians who thrive on pushing genre boundaries.

The band was founded by Hamilton brothers Laurence Frangos-Rhodes (vocals, guitar) and Sam Frangos-Rhodes (mandolin, fiddle, vocals), whose lifelong connection to acoustic music forms the heart of the group. They are joined by banjo player Nat Torkington, double bassist Rob Henderson, and vocalist/guitarist Kim Bonnington — a line-up known for its precision, creativity, and sense of musical camaraderie. Together, they create a sound that balances tradition with forward momentum, offering performances full of nuance, energy, and emotional depth.

Described by reviewer Roger Bowie as “acoustic, drumless, genius,” You, Me, Everybody now bring Midnight to audiences across the motu on a 12-date national tour, including a special performance at the Christchurch Folk Club. These shows promise an immersive journey through the album’s themes, showcasing new material alongside the technical mastery, humour, and heart that have defined the band’s rise as one of Aotearoa’s standout modern acoustic acts.
