An acoustic collaboration that brings together and presents the collective work of two musical partnerships, The Blues Mamas and the founding members of The Manuka Hunnies.

The Hummingbirds feature the uniquely distinct voices of singer-songwriters Lynette Diaz and Isabella (Izzy ) Miller Bell, accompanied by award-winning slide/finger-style guitarist Susan Leigh Grant.

 What to expect:

The uplifting programme promises a rich blending of soulful, earthy voices in a variety of genres. Expect original compositions and select covers encompassing alt-country/folk, blues, jazz ‘n’ soul. Just like a hummingbird, this collaboration imbues their music with messages of love, joy, hope and celebration.

Immigrant songbirds Izzy (Ma Bell) hails from Clydeside in Scotland, and Lynette Diaz is American-born with strong Mexican ancestral roots. Lynette has just launched her latest album entitled 'Gratitude'. Both women have strong musical bonds with Dunedin-born Susan Leigh Grant, on guitar, and undoubtedly up there with the top slide/finger-style guitarists in the country.

VENUE: Irish Society Hall, 29 Domain Terrace, Spreydon The hall is situated up the long driveway, directly next to Domain Park, and there is plenty of well-lit off-street parking.

Doors open 7pm. Performance starts at 7.30pm - online bookings will close 2 hours prior to the event start time.  After this time only door sales will be available on the night and will be dependant on the number of seats available in line with the Hall capacity.

LIMITED DOOR SALES AVAILABLE IF ONLINE SALES ARE NOT SOLD OUT. 

Please note that Door Sales are CASH ONLY: Tea, coffee, biscuits and cake available during the break, also bar facilities for cold refreshments throughout the night, Eftpos available at the bar for purchases only, no cash-out facility.

Folk Club and Irish Society members please remember to bring your membership card for licensing purposes. Non-members sign in at the bar if making purchases.
