There's no straight lineTanya's talk will focus on the idea that what you study doesn't define your career — reassuring for students who feel the pressure of choosing a degree. Drawing on her own journey across a wide range of industries, she'll share the defining moments that shaped her path and what led her to Farmlands. She'll speak honestly about navigating male-dominated industries and environments and the challenges that brings. She'll also share her perspective on the future of agriculture and leave students with the advice she wishes she'd had at their age.
Tanya Houghton, Chief Executive Officer, Farmlands
Tanya has led Farmlands/Te Whenua Taroa as Chief Executive Officer since 2021. Tanya is passionate about the unique role Farmlands/Te Whenua Taroa has in supporting New Zealand agriculture and delivering to the co-op’s purpose. Tanya believes that, as CEO, she is responsible for ensuring the co-operative is healthy and self-sustaining for the future of New Zealand’s food and fibre sector.
