Ocean Sounds: A Maungaturoto Youth Music Day
About
Ocean Sounds is a one-day creative music workshop and community concert in Maungaturoto, led by professional musicians Yune-Sang Lee (flautist) and Camila De Oliveira (pianist). The project engages primary and intermediate students in a collaborative, ocean-themed music-making experience, culminating in a public community performance on the same day. Centred on the theme of "oceans", reflecting Kaipara's Two Oceans, Two Harbours identity, the repertoire celebrates the town's unique connection to the sea. Each participant will perform on an instrument they are learning or already play, building confidence in their musical journey.Participation is FREE for children! Please enrol your child and provide an email address so they can receive the workshop music in advance.
Parents, whānau, and members of the wider community are warmly invited to attend the public concert. Adult tickets will be available at the door for NZ$20.
