TICKETING TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. General
By purchasing a ticket to this event, Dunedin Midwinter Carnival 2026 (DMC), the ticket holder agrees to these Terms & Conditions. The event organiser reserves the right to amend these terms where reasonably necessary.

2. Postponement & Reserve Dates
The DMC is an outdoor event and may be affected by weather or safety conditions.
By completing the purchase, the ticket holder acknowledges and accepts that the event may be postponed.
The official postponement (reserve) dates for the DMC are 19th and 20th of June 2026.
The organiser reserves the right to postpone the DMC to these reserve dates due to adverse weather conditions or where safety concerns arise.

3. Validity of Tickets
In the event of postponement, all tickets will remain valid for the reserve date(s) including the same day of week and session time as originally purchased.
Ticket holders are not required to take any action for their tickets to be transferred to the reserve date(s).

4. Refund Policy – Postponement
No refunds will be issued if the DMC is postponed to the stated reserve dates.
No refunds will be issued if the ticket holder can no longer attend on their chosen date or session time.
By purchasing a ticket, the ticket holder agrees to attend on either the original date(s) or the reserve date(s), if required.
Should ticket holders wish to change to a different session and/or day, applications may be made and will be accommodated subject to availability

5. Event Cancellation
If the DMC is cancelled entirely and not postponed, ticket holders may apply for a refund.
Refund requests must be submitted within 10 days of the official cancellation notice.
Approved refunds will be issued for the ticket price only.

6. Booking Fees
All booking and processing fees are non-refundable under all circumstances, including cancellation.

7. Optional Donation of Ticket Value
In the event of a full cancellation, ticket holders may choose not to apply for a refund.
By taking no action within the refund application period, the ticket holder agrees that the ticket value may be retained by the organiser and treated as a voluntary contribution supporting our charitable trust, including helping to recover costs already incurred in planning and delivering the event, such as payments to contractors, artists and suppliers. Any such support is sincerely appreciated and gratefully received.

8. Code of Conduct
Attendees must behave in a respectful, safe and lawful manner.
The organiser reserves the right to remove any person behaving inappropriately, without refund.
Illegal substances, weapons, or hazardous items are strictly prohibited.

9. Health & Safety
The organiser will take all reasonable steps to provide a safe environment for participants and attendees.
Attendees enter the event at their own risk.
The organiser is not responsible for personal injury, loss, or damage except where required by law.
Attendees must follow all health and safety instructions given at the event.

10. Photography & Media
The event may be recorded, photographed, or filmed by the Carnival documentation team.
By attending, you acknowledge that your image or voice may be captured and used for promotional purposes, including on websites or social media. If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please let the relevant staff member know at the time, and reasonable steps will be taken to respect your request.


11. Privacy
Personal information collected during ticket purchase will be used in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
Information may be used for event communication, updates, and our event survey.

13. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
