D-Day 80

On 6th June 1944, hundreds of thousands of brave servicemen landed on the shores of Normandy, France. They stood up, determined to end the horrors of the Second World War, and they never looked back.On 6th June 2024 - 80 years on Carnforth will pay tribute to those who fought for the freedoms we enjoy today.
In the morning, at 10am, there will be a Proclamation by the Town Crier.
Then from 8:45pm join us for the National D-Day 80 anniversary event.
Bring your own jam jar and light a 'candle of peace' (candle provided by Carnforth Town Council)
There will be a Proclamation by the Town Crier, an International Tribute, Beacon lighting and enetertainment from the fabulous 'Bobby Pin-ups'.
