Back by popular demand following his session at our 2023 Conference, Francis Winston, author of 'Rappin' The Classroom' brings you this KS3/4 session. With over 30 years’ experience within the musical profession (composer, classical music graduate, bandleader, cathedral chorister, hip hop emcee, jazz musician, orchestral musician, conductor, producer, musical theatre director, peripatetic (saxophone and clarinet) as well as head of music in two secondary institutions), Francis believes it is possible to provide an invaluable framework to which his book and other research projects will help revolutionise not only the way this art form is viewed, from conservatoires to secondary education, but also the way young people see this art form as a vehicle for lifelong learning and change.
