A restless artist and continuous innovator, Lancelot Ribeiro's work draws upon both his Indian heritage and his storied European experience. Reflecting on artistic currents of modernism, Expressionism and pioneering experimentation, he created unique artworks that reflect a changing, sometimes fractured, later 20th century. Now freelance, speaker Simon Lake is a former Curator of Art at Leicester Museum & Art Gallery, home to an internationally acclaimed collection of German Expressionist Art and an important group of Ribeiro paintings, giving rise to two Ribeiro retrospectives, in the 1980s, and more recently, in 2018.Location
