About:
Join the Centre for the New Midlands for the next of our key conversations; HS2: Beyond Curzon Street and Interchange.
When HS2 is discussed, much of the focus is understandably on the two big stations being developed and the cost of the project.
This event is designed to explore with our delegates what else is already happening with HS2 across the region to transform lives, infrastructure and connectivity – how can everyone touch, taste and feel the impact of HS2. The session will also explore where the further/future opportunities are to ensure the region maximises the opportunities of the nation’s biggest project in a generation.
This event has been generously sponsored by AtkinsRéalis and West Coast Partnership Development.

'At AtkinsRéalis, we provide end-to-end transport advisory services for combined authorities and city regions across the UK.

From active travel to Mass Transit and Rail, we create long-term, collaborative relationships with our clients and partners to shape the future of transport and reimagine infrastructure.
Together, we’re engineering a better future for our planet and its people'.
West Coast Partnership Development (WCPD) is the Shadow Operator for HS2 and customer champion. It works in partnership with the Department for Transport, HS2 Ltd and Network Rail to design and mobilise the new high-speed rail services.
This includes making recommendations on both high-speed service specification, use of released capacity, fares, the customer experience, and the design of the new high-speed trains and stations coming into service with the opening of HS2. Crucially, we are designing an integrated rail network not only delivering new high-speed services, but also reshaping the intercity services to the regions along the West Coast Main Line corridor.
Our aim is to deliver a service that sets new standards for customer experience in rail. We will deliver integrated, accessible, low-carbon, high-speed journeys that bring people and communities closer together and which helps to drive growth, jobs, and housing.
