What is a 'normal period'?

About
Everyone experiences periods differently, but it’s important to know what’s ‘normal’, and when you might need to seek advice. In our recent Status of Young Women in Scotland research, young women reflected on the importance of learning about what a ‘normal’ period looks like in school, and how it can impact your mood, energy levels and academic performance. Embarrassment and even shame remain a barrier for many young women and girls to better understand their own periods, know what is ‘normal’ and seek support if they are concerned.
This session with ALLIANCE Scotland will explore menstrual health, discuss ‘what is normal’ and why understanding this is important for each individual. The webinar will look at topics like hormones and the menstrual cycle, common period symptoms, managing periods at school and how to get help if you are concerned.
Please note the content of this webinar is designed specifically for young women and girls to learn about their periods.
