Featuring 'Summertime', 'It Ain't Necessarily So', 'Bess, You Is My Woman Now' and 'I Got Plenty O' Nuttin', George Gershwin's 'Porgy and Bess' is the perfect marriage of opera and jazz, the quintessential example of the Great American Songbook in an operatic setting.
'Porgy and Bess Reimagined' presents a bespoke concert performance of Gershwin's timeless classic, featuring just two singers and a small jazz band. The event - held in Kendal (27th) and Carlisle (28th) - will be a unique celebration of an iconic 20th century opera, in the hundredth anniversary year of DuBose Heyward's 'Porgy'. Come for the tunes, stay for the party.
