Festive Cyanotype Ornaments

About
Course Location: Bluecoat Screen Studio Experience Level: Beginners & people needing a refresher into the process Duration: The course runs for 2 hour sessions, 11am-1pm & 2pm-4pm.Cyanotype is a camera-less photographic printmaking technique that creates beautiful blue and white images using the sun/UV light.
Get into the festive spirit and create a set of beautiful, one-of-a-kind Christmas ornaments using the beginner-friendly printmaking process of Cyanotype.
During the 2-hour session, you’ll use premade paper ornament outlines as the base for your cyanotype ornaments. There will be a variety of festive textures and shapes to use to create your ornament patterns, which will then be exposed and dried. You'll then assemble your paper ornaments and complete them with a ribbon hanger.

All materials you will use are included in the cost of the course, but you are welcome to bring along your own if you choose. Our studios are always striving to be more environmentally friendly and use greener printmaking processes and consumables where possible.

No, but if you’d like to bring items to incorporate into your designs you can do. Items that work well include leaves, flowers, berries, small twigs, paper shapes, flat jewellery (chains etc). Please make sure any objects you bring to expose are not large or sharp.
