Introduction to UV Screen Printing

About
Course Location: Bluecoat Screen Studio Experience Level: Beginners & people needing a refresher into the process Duration: The course runs for one day (11:00am - 5:00) with a break for lunchLearn the basics of UV screen-printing, a popular and versatile printing process that can be used on fabric and paper.
In this one-day workshop, you'll dive into the fundamentals of screen printing, exploring the materials and techniques needed to create a UV-exposed screen. After preparing your screen, you'll have the opportunity to either draw your own design or bring a *suitable image to work from. After exposing the screen with UV light, you’ll have ample time at the end of the session for inking and printing your two-color designs on our screen beds. You'll leave with a small edition of your prints to take home and enjoy.
What’s Included?
All materials you will use are included in the cost of the course, but you are welcome to bring along your own if you choose. Our studios are always striving to be more environmentally friendly and use greener printmaking processes and consumables where possible.
Do I need to prepare anything beforehand?
If you would like to prepare an image to bring with you make sure it is no bigger than A5 and prepared as below:
- Inkjet/Laser Print: Please make sure it is either in BLACK INK ONLY on acetate/tracing paper
- Hand drawn image: Please use opaque ink pens (we use black posca markers) on tracing paper or acetate for your image to expose correctly.
- (Please be aware that you will need an image/drawing on a separate sheet for each colour of your print)
