Habitat Management for Temperate Rainforest Species

About
Join us back at Thornythwaite with Ben Averis, Angus Walsh and Clare de Villanueva as we explore habitat management for rainforest species.Botanical consultant Ben Averis is widely recognised as an authority on woodlands and woodland bryophytes in the UK. Ben is joined by Angus Walsh from Cumbria Woodlands, who leads the Cumbrian Rainforest Project and Clare de Villanueva, Ancient Tree Specialist.
The day will look at what conditions are needed for rainforest species to thrive and will focus on specific habitat conditions that maintain the rich biodiversity of lichens and bryophytes. The wood pasture at Thornythwaite is a crucial part of our rainforest landscape, and is a nationally important SSSI and NNR.
Accessibility- Public footpaths and rough ground off the paths. Not wheelchair accessible. Dogs must be kept on short leads.
