About
More Downstairs than Upstairs
Much is known and recorded about Harrogate's 19th and 20th century 'upstairs' millionaires but far less about the 'downstairs' army, made up mainly of women, who looked after their mansions.
Historian Dr Paul Jennings will balance the scales with his illustrated talk Women in Service: Victorian & Edwardian Harrogate.
Thursday 30th October 2025 - 7.00 p.m. at the West Park Centre (West Park United Reformed Church), Victoria Avenue. HG1 1EQ
Tickets £10 to include welcome drink.
