Standing Together – Youth & Community Solidarity Gathering
About
Following recent conversations across our communities and in recent network meetings, we are inviting youth organisations, youth workers and voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise organisations from across the Lancaster District to come together in solidarity to discuss the political and social issues we face.
This gathering is for anyone who wants to stand against all forms of division, in a safe space, recognising the many overlapping ways that young people, youth and community workers and communities experience discrimination and exclusion.
We know that our communities are stronger when we stand together. Many of you have already shown leadership, compassion, and courage, and this is another opportunity to connect, share experiences, and decide how we move forward as a district.
The purpose of this gathering is to:
- Create a safe, inclusive space for connection and solidarity
- Listen to and acknowledge the experiences of those in our youth and community sector
- Share and strengthen the great work already happening locally, regionally, and nationally
- Explore ways to tackle misinformation and negative influence in informal and social media environments
- Identify practical, tangible actions that participants can take back into their own settings
We hope you can join us and be part of this important conversation. Your voice and presence will help us build stronger, fairer, and more connected communities across the Lancaster District.
