The “Writing” Early Learning GoalThe training course will give reception staff the confidence to maintain good early years’ practice and still ensure that children achieve the ‘writing’ early learning goal.
Topics to be covered include:-
· How the prime areas are the foundation for writing
· Authentic experiences which support the prime areas within child-initiated play
· How to give children a love of writing
· The critical role of the adult
· The power of scribing and shared writing
· Story scribing and acting
Anna Ephgrave taught reception for over 20 years, achieving outstanding results, in challenging circumstances. She understands child development but has also learnt what motivates young children. She is passionate about giving children autonomy and the opportunity to write for an authentic purpose. The result is that they want to write – no coercion required!!
