DSC Learning Lab 2026
About
Learning lab sessions will resume in February at a cost of £30 per session, running from 10:00 to 15:00.To best support different age groups and learning needs, we will be offering three options:
• Primary Group – Ages 6 to 10, running on the second Saturday of the month
• Secondary Group – Ages 11 to 15, running on the third Saturday of the month
• Combined Group – Ages 6 to 15 (following the same structure as our Holiday Club model), running on the fourth Saturday of the month
Using Direct Payments, EHIP or PA Hours
We also want to make you aware that the Learning Lab programme can be funded through:
• Direct Payments
• EHIP funding
• Personal Assistant (PA) allocation
The session structure and outcomes align directly with the core aims of Direct Payments, including:
• increasing independence
• developing communication and social skills
• promoting emotional wellbeing
• supporting community inclusion
• providing meaningful short breaks for families
This means the sessions fully meet the criteria for PA-funded support; it simply requires agreement from your child’s social worker or local authority.
We can support you with this process. Our Health and Social Care Advocates are available to help you explore eligibility, prepare the request and communicate with the local authority if needed.
We truly appreciate your understanding as we make this transition. Our priority is to maintain a high-quality service that remains safe, meaningful and responsive to the needs of the children and the families who rely on it.
If you have any questions about funding options, the booking process or anything else, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
