Children’s Health in Victorian & Edwardian Harrogate
About
HEALTH IN HARROGATE 200 This first event in a series of talks following the history of Health in Harrogate is a fascinating talk by historian, Dr Paul Jennings, in which he explores the ever present fear of illness and possible premature death faced by Victorian & Edwardian parents. The talk explores the theme through the Harrogate schools - both the state schools attended by the working classes and the private schools of the middle classes. Dr Jennings will explore the range of sickness to which children succumbed, the reasons for it and the efforts to improve the situation.Date
