Christine Felce: Discovering Lost Films
About
Two award winning experimental films from the 1970s rediscovered 40 years after being thought lost in a fire.
Director Christine Felce introduces two 16mm films which give insights into past and present. Set in the Dorothea and Nantlle slate quarries 'The Problem Being' (37 MINS) is an experimental film which won a Gold Hugo at the Chicago International Film Festival. It’s about an extraordinary landscape and explores how things can look different from how they first appear.
In 'Telling and Showing' (15 MINS) residents tell of their hopes and dreams in Jaywick near Clacton on Sea which had started out as a collection of holiday homes but soon became a community.
