HopScotch has been present in Liverpool for 6 years, and during this time we've built a solid reputation up and down the UK and beyond. After a lot of chat with our regulars about putting on a festival, we decided to reach out to some of our favourite indie bottlers to see if they'd be up for it, and thankfully they were. So, what can you expect from this whisky festival, and what sets it apart from the others on the circuit?1. HopScotch has always shouted about independently bottled whisky, and that's what this festival is all about. While there may be a couple of bigger brands present, the focus is going to be on independent bottlers.
2. Rather than a big open hall, the festival will be split over two spaces that adjoin one another - Fabric Studios and HopScotch Whisky Bar.
3. Since the festival will take place in and around HopScotch, once the festival itself is over HopScotch will be open for a bit of a session afterwards. We also have a venue next door that is a grassroots music venue, so stay tuned as there may be some post festival live music.
4. We are based in an area of Liverpool that we consider one of the best places for food in the city, just 5 minutes from the venue is amazing Chinese and middle eastern food, as well as a great burger place, and a vegan junk food place. So there is no shortage of good to fill up on before you come, post festival or mid way through. We'll provide a list of all of these places to attendees.
5. HopScotch will be open the night before, on the night of the festival, and also the following day for anyone looking to make a weekend of it.
6. There will be a very cool festival bottling getting knocked up and available to purchase.
