About
Starting February 23rd Downside School warmly invites pupils for additional GCSE tuition to students in the local community. Whether you need a confidence boost or extra exam practice, our experienced teachers are here to help. Sessions run Monday - Thursday 17.10-18.10 in English, Chemistry, Spanish, French, Physics, Mathematics. (Minimum of 3 pupils required for classes to run)
This GCSE Spanish Booster course is led by Mrs B Iglesias, a highly experienced language specialist with over 25 years of teaching experience.
Mrs. Iglesias holds a BA and a PGCE, and is a native Spanish speaker. As part of her university studies, she also studied French and Portuguese, giving her a strong understanding of language acquisition and comparative linguistics.
She has extensive experience teaching GCSE and A Level Spanish, primarily with AQA, and has also taught Edexcel specifications. In addition, Mrs. Iglesias is a Senior GCSE and A Level AQA examiner, providing invaluable insight into exam requirements, assessment criteria, and how students can achieve top marks.
The course will focus on developing students’ confidence across all key skills — listening, reading, writing and speaking — with particular emphasis on exam technique, accurate language use, and effective communication. Sessions will be targeted, supportive, and highly exam-focused, helping students refine their skills and approach the GCSE Spanish examinations with confidence.
